My Senior Year

A time in my life when I felt that I handled the situation the best was my senior year. I started out by taking an early morning class. Throughout my high school experience I had never had an early morning class. Then the year before my accounting teacher honored me with an accounting experience at Fisher Controls that started my senior year.

At Fisher Controls I was in an actual business where I seen the day to day business practices. I had daily duties that I had to do. Usually they were different printed out material that I had to put into the computer. I dealt with checks and I had to mail, void, or call people throughout the week. I worked there for 8 months until the economy worsened. and they got rid of around 90 positions within the company.

I have also been working at the Best Western Regency Inn as a banquet server since I was 16. I work there sometimes during the week but mainly on weekends. I serve drinks and pick up plates for weddings and other large events. I believe that the most people that I have ever served were a little over 500 people.

I had to balance school and both my jobs throughout my senior year. It was a challenge but by the end I was used to it. I still managed to have a 3.94 GPA when I graduated. Balancing different lives is what I felt like I had to do. My academics still excelled without being affected by my jobs.

  1. That sounds like a lot to do especially in your senior year when you had to get ready for college. You must be pretty good at balancing the right things to get done.

  2. Yeah it sounds like you were especially busy during your senior. I wouldn't have like that at all. I don't like to be to overwhelmed sometimes. I also dont think I could have maintained that good of a GPA either.

  7. Balancing 2 jobs while trying to maintain a great GPA can be challanging. I can relate! Thats great, though, that you juggled 2 busy jobs and kept up with your grades. You have so much more experience after you do something like that.

  8. A lot of people try to do as little as possible their senior and get pretty lazy. Thats incredible that you were able to manage your time and everything to do all of that work in and outside of school. That will definately be helpful in college.
